At the April music trade show in Anaheim, eight engineers will cover discussions on Creative Mixing in Dolby Atmos, The Art of Mastering, and Mixing with Focal Headphones at the Focal Booth #14902<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"Sweetwater<\/a><\/strong>Focal has announced three discussion panels to be presented to NAMM attendees during the April music tradeshow in Anaheim. Eight engineers will cover discussions ranging from Creative Mixing in Dolby Atmos\u00ae<\/em>, and The Art of Mastering with Michael Romanowski<\/em>, to Mixing with Focal Headphones<\/em> at Focal\u2019s booth #14902 in the North Hall, Level 1.<\/p>\n

In the first discussion panel Creative Mixing in Dolby Atmos<\/em>, Friday, April 14 at 2 pm, Ben Givarz, Senior Creative Relations Manager at Dolby, will act as the moderator for engineers Luca Pretolesi and Robert Guzman from Las Vegas\u2019 Studio DMI, Fab Dupont from Flux Studios in NYC, and Brad Smalling from Evergroove Studio in Evergreen CO. Each of the studios feature a Dolby Atmos studio built around Focal professional monitors. The engineers will share their creative approaches to mixing in Dolby Atmos on albums by Skrillex<\/em>, Snarky Puppy<\/em>, Saves The Day<\/em>, and more.<\/p>\n

At the 4 pm Friday event, 4-time Grammy-winning mastering engineer Michael Romanowski will discuss his mastering process, including deep listening, and how Focal speakers help him hear every musical element for his stereo and immersive mastering projects. Michael recently won the 2023 \u201cBest Engineered Album, Classical\u201d<\/em> Grammy for his work mastering \u201cBates: Philharmonia Fantastique – The Making of the Orchestra\u201d.<\/p>\n

On Saturday at 2 pm Mike Pepe, Colt Capperrune, and Pete Lyman will share their thoughts on how different stages of producing a record\u2014recording, mixing, and mastering\u2014translate from studio monitors to headphones, and how they use headphones as tools for their craft in the studio and other environments.
